Darren Lycett
Founder and Managing Director
Darren founded Cloud Mortgages in 2018 with a vision to build a forward-thinking mortgage advice business, while keeping exceptional customer service at the heart of everything we do.
He is married with four children and loves spending time with his family – from busy weekends at sports clubs and events to holidays across Europe, particularly in the South West, where Devon and Cornwall are firm favourites.
Outside of work, Darren enjoys golf, padel, and following the highs and lows of his local football team, Nottingham Forest.
A fun fact: while at school, he interviewed Frank Clark during his time as Nottingham Forest’s Premier League manager – though he’d rather not show you the photo!
Alex Barrett
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Alex joined Cloud Mortgages in 2025, bringing with him several years of experience in financial services.
A dedicated Derby County fan, he adds plenty of lively football banter to the office. Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his partner and his young daughter.
He loves to travel and has already explored 17 countries – with many more on his list. He’s also surprisingly competitive at table football… any challengers?
Fun fact: Alex has a degree in History and is a proud lover of Marmite!
Kerrie Wilkinson
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Kerrie joined Cloud Mortgages in 2023 and now focuses on supporting our Derbyshire clients. She originally began her career in 2018 as Darren’s case progressor, and we’re incredibly proud of how she has grown into a highly skilled and well-established mortgage adviser.
Alongside advising clients, Kerrie also contributes to our social media projects. Outside of work, she is married with two daughters and has a soft spot for all things seasonal – especially themed mugs and decorations!
A keen traveller, Kerrie loves family adventures, particularly to theme parks. Disney is a firm favourite, and she’s already planning her second visit next year.
In her younger years, Kerrie embraced a more nomadic lifestyle, having lived in seven different countries – can you guess which ones? She’s also quite the adrenaline seeker, having bungee jumped, skydived, and even braved the world’s highest swing!
Laura Almond
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Laura was the first mortgage adviser to join Darren at Cloud Mortgages back in 2022. As a local to our Nottingham office, she seems to know just about everyone in the surrounding area!
In the office, Laura is famous for her incredibly memorable singing voice – and for the positive energy she brings every single day.
A keen traveller and lover of the outdoors, Laura enjoys hiking both across the UK and around the world. She has already visited around 25 countries and plans to tick off many more!
When she’s not exploring new places, Laura spends time with her large circle of friends and her much-loved niece and nephew, to whom she is very close.
Sharon Malone
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Sharon joined the Cloud Mortgages team in 2025 and has quickly become an invaluable part of the business. Based in Cumbernauld, she supports our clients across Scotland, particularly in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Married with two teenagers, Sharon is always kept on her toes – especially when their daredevil streak leads to trips to theme parks and water parks!
Despite her busy schedule supporting clients full time, Sharon also works as a part-time spin class instructor, something she thoroughly enjoys. When she has downtime, she loves heading to gigs and concerts with her husband and friends.
